Just the thought of BORING BOLLOCKS staying-on for at least another year actually makes me feel fucking sick in the stomach...

Talking about this today. It's a joke that we are being asked to pay for ticket before we know if he has gone. Were all paying the 75 quid but I think that only a couple of us will take the option up in May if he stays and that's only because it's the last year at home.

I've got a horrible feeling that there going to Keep him on. Likely hood of 2 wins in 16 after the weekend. There can't be many examples of managers keeping their job with that record.

Your point is absolutely spot on. So many fans seem to think that all our squad are shit but it is the system they are coached to play that is the problem.

But to address the thread I just will not go again. I live in France and it is expensive to go to three or four games a year but you just know most are not worth watching. In fact my wife constantly asks if I could stay away from Sky or BT let alone travel to England for a game of football. I do quite frequently for BSB, FSB, WSB and Moto GP but SA is losing me....

Thats a tad rude Errie me ol mucker?

Its not just personnel, thats that part I think we agree on :) We need both and yes a different manager would likely have our current midfield performing better but I am looking forward and whoever is manager, I think we need 3 quality additions to the squad in midfield.

Only my opinion, could be wrong but pretty sure it woul transform us with the right tactics of course. :-)

Re: If (IF) Boring Bollocks gets a new deal...
What is the point getting in better midfielders, when all we seem to want to do is edge in front and defend a lead?

What we need is a change of ethos. We could improve the midfield by making signings, we could also improve it by encouraging them to play a different way. Stoke had a midfield of Whelan, Nzonzi & Adam, decent, but are they so much better than Noble, Song & Kayoute to warrant them have 65% possession? You're an idiot if you think it's purely down to personnel.

Allardyce and his teams have a reputation, and we can all see now exactly why.

Re: If (IF) Boring Bollocks gets a new deal...
You are probably right Glenn if we look at teh squad. Will take a huge investment and to get the quality needed in one window is going to be a challenge.

I know some (perhaps many) do not agree with my humble opinion, but I think it is the midfield area that needs the real quality injected. I would like to see 2 or three top quality signings.

One in the mould of Nzonzi to provide a more defensive version of Kouyate, a Coutinho/Calzora/Modric/Silva type for creativit, pass and move at pace etc... and a goal scoring wide left player. All the above to be comfortable on the ball, passing and moving in tight areas and with great technique which will mean getting another manager to get them in the first place and even if we did get them, to exploit their skills / attributes.

Tony Henry's appointment is the key. If he delivers we could see some exciting times under a new manager. If not, it might be stagnation or relegation struggles again regardless of manager.
